On August 27, the Tucson Police Department reported that Tucson, Arizona, homicide suspects, Blane Barksdale, 56, and Susan Barksdale, 59, escaped custody while being extradited from Henrietta, New York, to Pima County, Arizona.  During their transport on the evening of August 26, the Barksdales overpowered two security officers in Blanding, Utah, and made a successful getaway on foot.

The couple is wanted in connection with the murder of 72-year-old Frank Bligh that went down in Tucson on April 16.  Although Bligh‘s remains haven’t been found, officials are investigating his disappearance as a homicide.  The Barksdales are also wanted for setting a Tucson residence on fire.

Blane has numerous tattoos on his arms and hands. The Barksdales’ direction of travel is currently unknown. Investigators have information that they are possibly traveling through Arizona.

They were last seen driving a red GMC Sierra pickup truck, license plate AZ: 127XTY, with damage to the front passenger side and rear bumper. KHOU reports that the pickup has a black diamond sticker on the rear window.

Blane and Susan Barksdale are believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Blane Barksdale is associated with the Aryan Brotherhood, the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center says.

He allegedly has a swastika, Aryan Brotherwood and peckerwood tattoo. Authorities say Blane knows he is going back to prison for life and has talked before about “shooting it out with law enforcement.” ~ per KHOU

The Barksdales are looking at charges of first-degree murder, burglary and arson charges for the death of 72-year-old Frank Bligh.

The FBI, U.S. Marshals and Apache County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation. If the Barksdales are spotted, please call 911 immediately. Anyone with possible information on their whereabouts is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
