State Troopers in Maryland shared the results of an investigation yesterday that culminated in the arrest of a suspect related to the rape of two women within six months of each other. Maryland State Police also say that the same suspect sexually assaulted a third woman.
The accused is identified as Mark Charles Blazejak, 21, of Galena, Maryland, in Kent County. He is charged with two counts of second-degree rape, three counts of third degree sex offense, two counts of second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of false imprisonment, and one count of fourth degree sex offense.
Blazejak was arrested on the afternoon of September 27 in Centreville, Maryland, and is currently awaiting a hearing before a Circuit Court judge.
The investigation began in August 2018 when a victim came forward and reported to the Maryland State Police that she had been raped by Blazejak. Investigative efforts led to the identification of other potential victims who were interviewed and disclosed to investigators that they had also been sexually assaulted by Blazejak.
Based on their investigation, detectives believe there may be other victims out there who have not come forward. Troopers stress that anyone having been sexually assaulted by Mark Blazejak to please contact the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack at 410-758-1101.
