Meth, Fentanyl, Weed: Traffic stop of Summerfield trio leads to drug trafficking charges
On Sunday, March 20, Deputy David Burgess with Florida’s Marion County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of SE 145th Street in Summerfield, Florida, because the registered owner had an active felony warrant.  The Deputy made contact with the driver, Jesse Thompson, 39, who had a warrant for Dealing in Stolen Property, Providing False Information to a Pawnbroker, and Grand Theft.
Thompson was secured and contact was made with the two passengers of the vehicle, Jessica Fulford, 39, and 49-year-old Thomas Key. Fulford was also detained because she had an active Failure to Appear warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Once everyone was removed from the vehicle, and prior to the vehicle being towed, deputies performed an inventory search of the vehicle. The inventory search revealed two bags containing Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Marijuana.
Deputy Burgess also located a plastic bag with fentanyl lodged between the passenger seat and center console. In total, he located 31 grams of Methamphetamine, 10 grams of Fentanyl, 13 grams of marijuana, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Upon further questioning, Thompson, Fulford and Key refused to answer any questions about the incident. Due to the location of the drugs and paraphernalia, Fulford and Key were both charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Thompson, Fulford and Key were then transported to the Marion County Jail, where they remain.
