Yesterday, the Stuart Police Department announced the extradition and arrest of a Michigan woman who cashed a forged check in Stuart, Florida. On March 11, the owner of Stuart Check Cashing reported that a female had cashed a forged check in the amount of $5,800 at his business. Detective Zach Pecci of the Stuart PD conducted an investigation identifying the woman as 29-year-old Detroit resident, Corrina Campbell.

The investigation revealed that after traveling to Florida, Campbell obtained a fraudulent identification which she used to cash the forged check. On April 29, a warrant for her arrest was obtained by Detective Pecci.

Because Campbell was a Detroit resident, the Michigan State Police Warrants Unit was contacted to request their assistance in the apprehension of Campbell. On July 18, Michigan State Police located and arrested Campbell at a residence in Detroit. Campbell has since been extradited to Florida where she is currently in custody at the Martin County Jail.

Campbell was charged with:

  • Grand Theft over $5,000,
  • Uttering False Bank Check,
  • Criminal Use of Personal ID, and,
  • Possession of Forged Driver’s License.
