One day after we reported that Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home was vandalized over frustrations that Americans were only receiving $600 stimulus checks instead of $2,000 – equal opportunity vandals also hit Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home in Louisville, Kentucky. The vandalism at McConnell’s house, mostly consisting of red and white spray-paintings,  reportedly went down on Saturday, January 2 around 5 a.m.

Spray paint on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s door in Kentucky on Saturday read, “WERES MY MONEY.” “MITCH KILLS THE POOR” was scrawled over a window. A profanity directed at the Republican senator was painted under the mailbox.  ~ Bloomberg

Pelosi’s home was also decorated with the bloodied and severed pig’s head left in her driveway, along with her home being spray-painted over the New Year’s Eve Holiday. At least the pig blood was reported to be fake.

On Saturday, McConnell released a statement shared by media outlets condemning the vandalism at his Kentucky home.

“I’ve spent my career fighting for the First Amendment and defending peaceful protest,” he stated. “I appreciate every Kentuckian who has engaged in the democratic process whether they agree with me or not. This is different. Vandalism and the politics of fear have no place in our society.”

“We just hope our neighbors in Louisville aren’t too inconvenienced by this radical tantrum.”

Police in Louisville are investigating the incident but have no suspects as of this writing.

It is not immediately clear whether security cameras monitored McConnell’s home, though it’s been noted that several surveillance cameras monitor Pelosi’s home and the neighborhood. ~ MSN

On New Year’s Day, Senate Republicans blocked a House-passed bill to increase stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000.

Democrats had previously passed measures in the House for more increased amounts of stimulus funds to be sent out to Americans, measures that were blocked by McConnel and were never voted on by the Senate.  When Republicans and Democrats finally reached a compromise and agreed to send out $600 in stimulus funds to Americans, Trump called the $600 a “disgrace” and urged Congress to increase that amount to $2,000.

Trump’s top economic adviser, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, was the primary Republican negotiator of the now stalled COVID-19 relief bill. And it was Mnuchin who proposed the measly $600 payments to Americans. “Many have questioned why the president waited until now to object,” according to Yahoo! News. ~ Ace News Today
