Mother of 2-year-old missing Virginia boy arrested and charged with his disappearance
Police in Hampton, Virginia, reported that they have arrested and charged Julia Tomlin, a 34-year-old Hampton woman, in connection with the disappearance of her two-year-old son Noah Tomlin. On Monday, June 24, at 11:36 a.m. the Hampton Police Division was notified by the mother that Noah was missing. This began an extremely intensive investigation, a two-pronged process that included both search and investigative efforts, according to the Hampton Police.
Tomlin’s story to police when she first reported Noah as missing, is that she put the baby to bed at approximately 1 a.m. that Monday; and that’s the last time anyone ever saw the toddler, according to MSN. At 11:36 a.m. that same Monday morning, Tomlin reported to police that Noah was missing.
By the evening of June 28, police had arrested the mother and charged her with three counts of felony child neglect.
Unfortunately to date, Noah has not been found; however, based on the highly coordinated investigation we currently believe him to be deceased. Based on the investigation, we are intensifying our search efforts to find Noah with a more specific focus. As the investigation is on-going and in a critical phase, we are very limited in what information can be released. ~ Hampton VA Police
“We have looked on land, water; we have checked trash dumpsters; we have checked neighborhoods, houses, underneath buildings, in sheds. We actually covered the area multiple times with different teams so we would have different eyes checking the same locations repeatedly,” said Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult.
Virginia State Police and the FBI are now working with the Hampton Virginia Police with the investigation into Noah’s disappearance and presumed death, according to ABC News.
Police described Noah as being a two-year-old white male, last seen wearing a white and green pajama shirt and diaper. He was last seen in the 100-block of Atlantic Avenue in Hampton, Virginia, at approximately 1 a.m.
