Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi arrested, charged with DUI in California
On Saturday night, May 28, Paul Pelosi of San Francisco was arrested in Napa County at 11:44 p.m. and charged with DUI after it was determined that he was operating a motor vehicle, “with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.” If the name sounds familiar, the 82-year-old Paul has been happily married to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi since 1963. Paul and Nancy have five children.
Fox News is reporting that Pelosi’s arrest was initially reported by TMZ.
When the House Speaker was questioned about her husband’s arrest, a spokesperson said she would not be commenting on the “private” matter. “The speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” the spokesperson said. Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island on Sunday to speak at Brown University’s commencement ceremony, according to CNN.
The California Highway Patrol in Napa said units responded to a two-vehicle crash at 10:26 p.m. local time on State Route 29 at Walnut Lane. Paul Pelosi was driving a Porsche and traveling eastbound on Walnut Lane and attempted to cross SR-29 when his vehicle was hit by a party traveling northbound on SR-29 in a Jeep, according to the CHP. ~ MSN
After Nancy’s hubby was detained following that Saturday night car crash, he was transported to the Napa County Detention Center and charged with two misdemeanors associated with his driving under the influence. Pelosi was released on Sunday morning after paying $5,000 bail, according to the Napa County Criminal Justice Network’s records.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the crash. The other driver involved in the two-car accident was not arrested.
