Naples gang member arrested with enough fentanyl to kill almost nearly 100,000 people
On Friday, Florida’s Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced the arrest of a 24-year-old gang member who had enough fentanyl to kill nearly 100,000 people when detectives served a search warrant at his home. That gang member was selling fentanyl to undercover agents earlier this past summer.
Ruuderston Scott Ashle Antoine was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of trafficking fentanyl. Reportedly, Antoine sold undercover CCSO Vice and Narcotics Bureau detectives fentanyl on three separate occasions in May and June. The purchased fentanyl totaled 51.3 grams, enough to potentially kill 25,650 people.
“A significant amount of fentanyl has been removed from our community with the arrests of this one individual,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “I am proud of our Vice and Narcotics detectives whose continued commitment and vigilance have been instrumental in helping to rid our community of this deadly opioid.”
Antoine was arrested at the Collier County jail where he was awaiting trial on fentanyl trafficking and other felony charges stemming from his July 12 arrest following the search warrant that same day. The search of Antoine’s Mitchell Street residence in Naples Manor turned up nearly 196.6 grams of fentanyl, enough to kill 98,500 people. Detectives also found large amounts of cocaine, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as a stolen AR-15 rifle.
His charges include:
- Trafficking in fentanyl (4 grams or more),
- Trafficking in cocaine (28-200 grams),
- Possession of psilocybin,
- Possession of marijuana (over 20 grams), and
- Possession/use of narcotics equipment or paraphernalia.
Antoine is a documented gang member in Collier County.
