Just hours ago, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) headquartered in Naples, Florida, announced that their detectives arrested a 27-year-old Collier County man on Friday, after an investigation revealed he had offered a young child up for sex over a dating app.

Detectives said Jeremy Kenneth Mannerberg offered the prepubescent victim for sexual acts to a user on the MeetMe app. He also sent nude images of the victim to the MeetMe user via another platform.

“Protecting children is my No. 1 priority,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.

“People who abuse and exploit children are the lowest of the low. Thanks to our hardworking detectives, this individual has been removed from our community and will now be held accountable for this horrific crime. Every child deserves to feel safe in Collier County.”

The Sheriff’s Office said that it’s unclear whether the young victim was physically harmed. Detectives are continuing their investigation.

The investigation began after CCSO received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. CCSO detectives determined the criminal activity was occurring at Mannerberg’s residence in Naples.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Mannerberg’s home on April 21. The victim was located inside the residence. Detectives said the interior of the residence matched the interior (tile floor, kitchen table top, walls) shown in the images of the victim that were sent to the MeetMe user.

During the search warrant, detectives learned Mannerberg took some of the photos of the victim that he sent and that he had recently set up a MeetMe account.  Detectives obtained a search warrant for Mannerberg’s MeetMe account, and MeetMe provided records in response to the warrant.

Mannerberg was subsequently taken into custody and charged with computer pornography.
