Nashville dad arrested after beating 6-year-old daughter with selfie stick
Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department in Tennessee informed the media this past Sunday that a Nashville father beat his six-year-old daughter with a selfie stick after the child accidentally broke it. The father, 28-year-old Aaron Moore, was arrested and charged with felony child abuse. “Police say the girl and her siblings were visiting Moore when she accidentally broke the selfie stick,” according to a December 25 report from The New York Post.
According to police, Moore has shared custody of his children. The kids’ mom lives in Dickson County.
While at the home, the victim was playing with a selfie stick and accidentally broke the selfie stick. It was then investigators said Moore became upset and used the selfie stick to hit the child causing welt marks on the child’s back. The girl’s siblings told investigators they witnessed their father hitting their sister with the selfie stick multiple times. ~ per WSMV in Nashville
The girl’s mom filed a complaint with the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office after hearing about the beatdown from her children. An official police report was filed after the kids spoke with authorities from DDS and officials with the sheriff’s office.
Moore is currently freeafter paying a $3,500 bond. He’ll be in court on February 1 facing his felony charge of abuse of a child, age 6 years or less, according to Scoop Nashville.
