On Thursday, September 22, many of us were confused when the NFL announced their 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show as being centered around Apple Music.  What did that mean?  And why on September 22 was the media reporting that Taylor Swift might be headlining the most watched musical performance of the year?

All that got squared away yesterday when the NFL followed up with the very important announcement that, with Apple Music as their partner for the show this year, the iconic and beloved singer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Rihanna will take center stage at State Farm Stadium for the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show at Super Bowl LVII, on Sunday, February 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.

The Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show telecast will be produced by DPS with Roc Nation and Jesse Collins serving as executive producers, and Hamish Hamilton serving as director. Roc Nation is also serving as the strategic entertainment advisors of the live performance.

Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter went on record to say that “Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

Dr. Dre also chimed in and gave Rihanna some advice as she prepares for her Super Bowl performance: “Have Fun”

Over the coming months, fans can expect to see exclusive details and sneak peeks leading up to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show by following @AppleMusic on TikTok, Instagram and Twitter.
