Yesterday morning, Florida’s St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office announced that a man from West Palm Beach who was free diving in the area near the Halsey shipwreck which is approximately nine miles off Jensen Beach and about 13 miles southeast of the Ft. Pierce Inlet, failed to resurface after a dive.

Initially, the U.S. Coast Guard identified the missing diver as 39-year-old “Ryan” Price of West Palm Beach; but just a few hours ago, the Coast Guard updated and corrected the diver’s name as Virgil Price.

Price was last seen wearing a green wetsuit with an orange stripe on the hood, yellow weights on his weight belt, and black carbon fiber fins. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, to include the Dive Team, has been and will continue to assist the United States Coast Guard and MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife, who is the lead in this investigation.

Please call Sector Miami at 305-535-4472 if you have any information regarding Price’s whereabouts.
