Officials still seeking help in solving cold case homicide of Darlene Isenhour

This week marked the 29th anniversary of a cold case for which the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office continues to reach out to the public in search of answers.

Darlene Isenhour’s case came to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office on April 18, 1996, when witnesses spotted the body of an unidentified adult female in a wooded area in the 3900 block of Old Dixie Highway, in Gifford. Through investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the female remains as belonging to Darlene Isenhour. According to TCPalm, Darlene was 37 years old at the time of her death; and her death remains an unsolved homicide.

The Indian River County Cold Case Team continues to re-examine evidence in this case. There have been many updates in methods of testing that may hopefully apply to Darlene’s case.
