Operation Deviant Nightfall: Sting operation nails man charged again for serial child sexual abuse
On April 17, 2025, Florida’s Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Special Assault Unit detectives arrested 64-year-old Julius Fagge III following an investigation into multiple decades-old child sexual abuse allegations. The details of the case surrounding Fagge are hideous and disturbing.
JSO, partnering with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Fagge in February for soliciting a minor via computer as part of their sexual predator stings called Operation Deviant Nightfall and Deviant Sunrise. JSO took part in the operations.
Following Fagge’s arrest, investigators learned that Fagge had repeatedly sexually abused several children in Jacksonville back in the 1990s. All victims were under 12 at the time. JSO detectives traveled to Georgia and North Carolina to track down leads.
After interviews with multiple victims and corroborating evidence, JSO detectives obtained a warrant for Fagge’s arrest on multiple charges of Sexual Battery on a Child. He has since been booked into the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reports that they will work closely with the State Attorney’s Office to get justice for the victims and families who must endure a lifetime of trauma from these acts. JSO also added that:
“… there are no statute of limitations for this type of crime. You can always report cases no matter how long ago they happened.
Victims and survivors of abuse are encouraged to come forward. Help is available. Call us at (904) 630-0500.”
