Objectively and statistically speaking, the 2019 Super Bowl was the lowest scoring game in all of Super Bowl history.  On a more subjective note, fans are calling the game the worst and most boring game in all of Super Bowl history. One spectator said it was like watching two high school teams on the field.

The game ended with the Patriots scoring late in the fourth quarter to defeat the Rams 13 -3. Rams’ QB Jared Goff got sacked four times and watched as his team struggled offensively for the entire game.

One of the few high points of the game, besides being witness to 41-year-old Tom Brady win his record sixth Super Bowl as the Patriots’ QB, was New England Patriots’ wide receiver Julian Edelman – who was voted the winner of the Pete Rozelle Trophy – and named Super Bowl LIII Most Valuable Player.

During last night’s game, Edelman caught 10 receptions for 141 yards and added an eight-yard rush. He is the seventh wide receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP and the first since Pittsburgh wide receiver Santonio Holmes in Super Bowl XLIII.

Edelman has at least five receptions in 13 consecutive postseason games, the longest streak in playoff history. His 115 career postseason receptions rank second in NFL history.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who had 151 career catches in the playoffs, ranks first all-time.

The Super Bowl MVP award is chosen by a panel of 16, comprised of members of the Pro Football Writers Association of America, selected members of the electronic broadcast media and by fans interactively through the National Football League’s official website, NFL.com.
