On September 2, North Carolina’s CBS 17 News (WNCN) reported that Police in Goldsboro, North Carolina, are looking for an Illinois woman who was reported missing more than a month ago.

Caitlin Hodges, 29, had a report filed in Goldsboro on July 25 about her disappearance, according to a Sunday news release from the Goldsboro Police Department.

Hodges, from Crystal Lake, Illinois, was visiting her boyfriend in Goldsboro and was last seen on July 18, according to the Aware Foundation, which helps publicize missing person cases.

Police in Goldsboro said that “a significant amount of misinformation has been circulated on social media” about the woman’s disappearance.

“While we understand that the community is eager to help, we must stress that sharing unverified information can be harmful.  Misinformation can compromise the integrity of our investigation and, in some cases, may even jeopardize the safety of others involved. We ask the public to refrain from posting or sharing speculative information.”

Our friends at the Aware Foundation shared Caitlin’s missing poster and added that she has multiple tattoos for identification purposes. Her family and friends are extremely concerned for her safety and well-being.

If you have any information on her whereabouts, please contact Investigator Sturgill at 919-580-4211 or the Goldsboro Police Department at 919-705-6572.
