Police investigating double homicide in Whispering Sands, couple found shot to death
On Sunday, October 15, at approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to a home in the area of SE 28th Street and SE 52nd Avenue in Whispering Sands, Florida, near Ocala.
The call the Sheriff’s Office received was in regard to “a suspicious incident.” When deputies arrived at that location, they discovered one man and one woman, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
As of this writing, MCSO has not released any additional information regarding the two victims. A motive for the shootings, the identities of the victims, the relationship between the two, and the exact address of the residence where the shootings occurred are being withheld until family members can be notified.
Officials report that MCSO Major Crimes detectives are in charge of the investigation and are asking the public for help.
