Police investigation continues after missing Conowingo teen found deceased

Police in Maryland are tasked with the responsibility of finding out what happened to 16-year-old Isaiah Workman, who was reported missing from his Cecil County home on Sunday night.  Tragically, the beloved teen, who friends and family all say was a “great kid,” was found dead on Monday morning, April 3, around 8 a.m.  Maryland State Police report that they are investigating the case.

The police reported that the body of their 16-year-old victim, Isaiah Workman, of Conowingo, Maryland, was discovered Monday morning by members of his family not far from his home, which is located in the 500 block of Stevens Road. Troopers from the Maryland State Police North East Barrack and Criminal Enforcement Division, Northern Region responded to the scene to investigate.

According to a preliminary investigation, Workman was last seen Saturday evening and reported missing by family to Maryland State Police on Sunday evening. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will determine the cause and manner of death.

The Daily Voice reports that a GoFundMe fundraising campaign has been launched on behalf of the teen’s family.

While no one ever expects this to happen to such a great kid, or any kid in that matter,” organizers wrote. “We are asking for help in raising some funds for his funeral expenses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you can’t make any donation, please say a prayer for our family during this time.”

Troopers from the Criminal Enforcement Division, Northern Region will lead the investigation in this case and said they are actively investigating Isaiah’s cause of death, according to WBAL-TV.  If anyone has any information on this case, they are asked to please contact the Maryland State Police North East Barrack at 410-996-7800.
