Police make arrest in road rage shooting murder of Dundalk woman
Yesterday, police in Baltimore County announced that their Homicide Unit made an arrest in the September shooting of a woman who was found shot on Fairview Avenue in Dundalk, Maryland.
Ricky Raheem Charles, 29, of the 3600 block of Lyndale Avenue in Baltimore, was charged with the first-degree murder of Melissa West. Police said that West was killed on September 21 following what is believed to have been a road rage incident.
Charles is held without bail pending a bail review hearing.
West was 30 years old at the time of her murder. She hailed from the 500 block of Fairview Avenue in Dundalk.
Just before 6:30 p.m. on September 21, police responded to that shooting on Fairview Avenue and found West outside of her home. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Fox 45 News quoted a friend of West who said that the victim was “one of a kind.”
“She was fun. She was a good girl. She was really nice. She would do anything for anybody,” she said. “I’m going to miss her. She really didn’t deserve this not at all. She was too good of a person for this.”
