Police nab man on child sex abuse charges who had been on the lam since November 2019
Authorities have been trying to catch up with 51-year-old registered child sex offender Anthony Lyvonne Howes of Baltimore County since he went on the run back in November. Howes was wanted by police on charges that he had sexually abused a minor. And on the morning of May 22, Maryland State Police caught up with Howes and arrested him at approximately 11 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Hanover Street in downtown Baltimore.
Howes was taken into custody without incident by members of the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team with the assistance of officers from the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Howes was transported to the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack for processing.
Howes had been missing since at least November 4, 2019, when Troopers from the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team sought to arrest him at his home on charges that he sexually assaulted a minor in Centreville, Maryland. In addition to the arrest warrant on the most recent charges, Howes also had an arrest warrant issued by the Baltimore County Police Department for providing false information when he registered as a sex offender in Maryland.
