Police need help identifying dead man found on Florida beach
Yesterday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, circulated a sketch of a man found lying on the beach on the morning of Saturday, June 22, that caught the eye of beachgoers at Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Beachgoers noticed that the man had not been moving for a prolonged period of time. Upon closer inspection, the concerned citizens called 911 to report something was wrong.
First responders on the scene confirmed that the man was deceased.
The still unidentified man was found on the beach near Commercial Boulevard just south of the pier, next to a beach chair and beach mat, according to NBC News in Miami.
BSO homicide detectives investigating the death do not believe that there was any foul play involved regarding the man’s death; but the sheriff’s office released a sketch of the man hoping the public can help identify him.
The man did not have a license or any other type of identifying document in his wallet.
He’s believed to be a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, 190 pounds and is between 40 and 55 years of age.
The man was found wearing a black sweater, black pants with a white stripe down the side of the leg, black shoes and a flannel jacket.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the sketch is asked to contact BSO Homicide Detective Jeffrey Curtis at 954-321-4210.
