Police warn of gun-wielding man trying to lure kids into his van
On April 15, Baltimore County Detectives reported that they were actively investigating reports of a white van approaching young people in the Woodlawn area. In one instance, the driver of the van attempted to lure a 12-year-old into his vehicle.
The first incident occurred in the 8600 block of Windsor Mill Rd on Sunday, April 4, around 6 p.m. The child refused to get into the van and ran home safely. The driver fled the scene.
On Tuesday, April 6, detectives received another report of a similar incident that occurred on Walden Circle.
Around 4 p.m., a group of children reported that a masked subject driving a white van approached them and displayed a handgun. The children were ordered into the vehicle but refused.
The driver is described as a white male in his 50’s. The GMC Savana van shown in these images show the vehicle involved in Sunday’s incident.
The public is urged to contact the police if they encounter this van at 911 or 410-307-2020.
Even more suspicious is a similar situation on the other end of Baltimore County around the same time frame involving a man in his 20’s who has been seen lingering around schools and other areas where youngsters congregate, in one instance being spotted along the 4400 Block of Fullerton Avenue in the Nottingham area.
