Randallstown High School teacher, Carlos Arroyo, arrested for sexually abusing a minor
On June 23, Detectives with the Baltimore County Crimes Against Children Unit announced arresting 38-year-old Carlos Arroyo on Friday, June 21. Arroyo, a teacher at Randallstown High School, was charged with two felonies:
- sexual abuse of a minor, and
- sexual offense in the third degree.
Baltimore County Police added that Arroyo is also looking at two additional misdemeanor charges.
Law enforcement officials in Baltimore County were notified of these sexual assault allegations at the end of April. During the following weeks, detectives conducted interviews and gathered evidence, which ultimately led to Arroyo’s arrest on Friday.
WMAR2- News in Baltimore shared that parents were informed via a letter that Arroyo has been employed by Baltimore County Public Schools since 2022 and at Randallstown High School since August of the same year. That letter went on to say that, following his arrest, Arroyo was placed on administrative leave and no longer has access to the school or soccer team.
Following his arrest, Arroyo was transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center where he was being held without bond. A bail review hearing is scheduled for today, Monday, June 24, at 1 p.m.
