‘Redneck Woman’ country music singer Gretchen Wilson arrested in Connecticut
Gretchen Wilson, perhaps best known for her country music hit “Redneck Woman” was arrested at the Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, just after 7 p.m. last night, according to an August 22 report from USA Today. State police responding to the call said that the 45-year-old Wilson had gotten involved in a “minor incident” on an incoming flight. When police responding to the scene caught up with her and questioned her at the airport, they said she “became belligerent toward the troopers and caused a disturbance.”
Authorities did not provide any specific details regarding the in-flight disturbance.

Wilson was arrested and charged with breach of peace. Her bail was set at $1,000. She is expected to make a court appearance in Connecticut today.
The country star hails from Lebanon, Tennessee, and won her Grammy Award in 2004 for “Redneck Woman.” She’s had five songs in the Top Ten on Billboard’s country chart.
Wilson’s website was down at the time of this writing. According to ticketmaster, the country singer doesn’t have any upcoming concert dates.
