Remodeling crew workers discover skeletal remains beneath the floorboards of Texas Home

Yesterday, the Houston Police Department (HPD) in Texas reported that they had to send patrol officers to 5701 Rietta Street around 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, after a remodeling crew working in the residence came across skeletal remains hidden underneath the floorboards of the house. 

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences responded and retrieved those remains for further investigation and identification.

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results to be performed on those skeletal remains.  The victim’s identity, gender and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing and that anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
