Reward offered for arrest of Hagerstown man sought in shooting murder
On October 25, Maryland’s Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) announced that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Taejon Najeire Gill, age 20, for the murder of Sharron Clark. HPD is also offering a reward for information that leads to his arrest. Anyone with information can contact Det. Weaver at sweaver@hagerstownpd.org or call 240-313-4345.
Police warn that Gill should not be approached and is considered armed and dangerous. If he is seen, please call 911. Gill is from the Hagerstown area; but his current whereabouts are unknown.
Background: On October 18 at about 8:00 p.m., police officers were in the Jonathan Street area when they heard the sound of shots fired. As they were attempting to locate where they came from, the Emergency Communications Center took a 911 call. The caller stated that there was a gunshot victim in front of 55 Murph Avenue.
Within moments, officers located the victim, later identified as Sharron Akraim Clark, 45, from Hagerstown. Clark was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began first aid and continued life saving measures until emergency medical service personnel arrived.
Clark was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Criminal Investigators were called to the scene and Western Maryland Regional Crime Lab personnel responded to process evidence. The police said that is an active investigation and any further information will be released as appropriate.
