On February 15, detectives with Florida’s Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Violent Crimes Unit issued a plea to the public seeking help to identify and locate a person of interest in a double shooting that left two injured in Dania Beach back on September 11, 2023. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

Background: At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Monday, September 11, a call came in to 911 regarding reports of a shooting near the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and West Dania Beach Boulevard. BSO deputies responded to that location and rendered aid aid to a juvenile male who sustained a single gunshot wound. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also responded and transported the juvenile to an area hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, detectives received information that a second gunshot victim, an adult male, had arrived at a hospital in Plantation, Florida. Detectives responded to the medical facility to investigate. During the course of their investigation, detectives determined the shooting occurred near 80 S.W. Eighth Avenue in Dania Beach. Video surveillance near the location captured a male subject dressed in all black running from the area. Detectives believe the subject may have information that could aid in the investigation.
