Our original report from October 2, 2022 appears below in its entirety.

Ringo Starr, 82, cancels concert due to mystery illness and voice woes

Some of us are a bit concerned after hearing that living legend Ringo Starr had to cancel a concert date with his All-Starr Band that was scheduled in New Buffalo, Michigan, on Saturday.  A few hours after the gig was cancelled, word came down that the 82-year-old former Beatles drummer had “fallen ill.”  The Mirror reported a spokesperson for the supergroup as saying that Ringo’s current health issue is not Covid-19 related.  But the spokesperson stopped short of specifying exactly what Ringo’s problem is.

Whatever the problem may be, Hollywood Life reports that his current condition has adversely affected Ringo’s singing voice.

Making matters more disconcerting, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band had another show scheduled for tonight, Sunday, October 2 at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota, that has been postponed due to Ringo’s mystery illness.  The postponement tweet provided by the venue didn’t provide any additional information concerning Starr’s diagnosis.  “The Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band concert scheduled for 8 pm Sun. 10/2/22 in the Mystic Showroom has been postponed. Ringo is sick and was hoping to be able to perform, hence the late notice, but it has affected his voice. Ringo does not have COVID-19

The last time we heard from Ringo, ringostarrmusic posted a pic to Twitter and Instagram showing the classic rock star looking well and fit.  The September 30 photo’s caption read, “Gregg and Ringo on the tarmac heading for the next gig thank you thank you Toronto I send you peace and love. ✌️🌟❤️🎶🍒🎵✈️🌈☮️”   And that was the band’s final posting to social mdia.

Ringo Starr Biography

The current lineup for Ringo’s band includes bandmates Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette, Hamish Stuart and Edgar Winter.  The band has shows scheduled through October 16.

Whatever Ringo’s issue is, we hope it’s nothing serious and we all wish him a complete and speedy recovery.

To celebrate Ringo Starr’s birthday on July 7, 2022, @ArtemisMusicEnt beamed Ringo’s music and messages of Peace and Love to the International Space Station (ISS) and to the stars!
Ringo gave the “launch” command from a special celebration at his Peace and Love statue in Los Angeles to the Artemis Space Network Mission Control Center in Houston, beginning a musical space mission of Peace and Love to orbit the world and travel across the universe.

Ringo’s Peace and Love Space Mission includes Ringo’s “Starr Song,” created by “sonifying” the celestial stars over Liverpool the day Ringo was born, and “Let’s Change the World,” the title cut from his album released in September 2021.

Ringo’s “Starr Song” and “Let’s Change the World” are now traveling across the universe – carrying Ringo’s message of Peace and Love from planet Earth.
