Routine traffic stop in Micco results in Fentanyl / Meth trafficking bust
On January 16, Florida’s Brevard County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Wednesday, in the early morning hours, Deputy Brenden Weber was out patrolling the streets of Micco when he observed a vehicle fail to obey a traffic control device. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed three people inside, one of which was a passenger, Christopher Amoretti. During the traffic stop, Officer Manning and his K9 partner “Irish” from the Palm Bay Police Department came to assist and do a “free air sniff” of the vehicle.
“Irish” gave a positive alert on the vehicle, which ended up being bad luck for Amoretti as a black box and backpack were located where he was sitting that contained approximately 85 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 18 grams of Fentanyl. Amoretti admitted to the deputies that he knew the drugs in the car were his, and went on to say that the other persons in the vehicle knew nothing about the drugs.
Amoretti was transported to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey’s “Iron Bar Lodge” for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Trafficking in Fentanyl, where Ivey said, “he can now see just how lucky he is at getting a nice cellmate to spend time with!!”

Sheriff Ivey went on to thank Deputy Weber and his friends at the Palm Bay Police Department for their good work.
