Sarah Becker, best known for her appearance in MTV’s “The Real World,” Season 5, has tragically passed away at the age of 52. The news was confirmed by a family member to TMZ yesterday, Sunday, June 23.

Reportedly, Becker died by suicide at her home in Illinois earlier this past week, according to Yahoo! News.

We first met Sarah back in 1996 when she gained fame after joining the cast of “The Real World: Miami.”  The show debuted a significant moment in the Real World franchise, as it was the first time housemates received a team project during their cohabitation. The group assignment was to create a startup business.  Unfortunately, even with a startup allowance of $50,000, the team could not successfully execute that task.

Although that startup business didn’t get off the ground, Becker left her mark that year by bringing home a puppy named Leroy and engaging in a memorable feud with fellow cast member Melissa Padrón. Following that heated argument, Melissa voluntarily moved out of the house but still supported her castmates in completing their group assignment, according to TV Line.

Sarah Becker has sevured a legacy that will continue to thrive thanks to her involvement in Reality TV and her exposure on “The Real World.”  She earned a huge fan base over the years; and she is being remembered fondly as one of the nicest people to come out of MTV’s “The Real World: Miami,” according to Meaww News.

Deadline shared one tribute from a friend, Daniel Norton, who posted on Facebook:

“Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine… Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel her warmth standing in her presence. I am grateful for our adventures and laughs. Big hugs to all the Wildstorm fam!”
