School Superintendent charged with multiple child sex crimes now being sued by his daughter
Back in August, following multiple accusations and allegations of “sexual assault, sexual battery and sexual harassment from former students and coworkers,” the Oklahoma State Board of Education suspended its longtime Peckham Public School Superintendent, Gary Young. In a unanimous decision, school board members voted to suspend Young’s teaching and superintendent certificates, according to The Blackwell Journal-Tribune.
Counsel for the State Board said that “complaints include allegations that Young has sexually assaulted adults and minors, groomed minors for sexual abuse and unfairly compensated teachers in exchange for sexual relationships.” One month after his certificates were suspended, the state’s attorney commenced a formal investigation into Young’s activities – and police executed a search warrant at Young’s home.
By this December, it was reported that the former school superintendent had been charged with several sex crimes involving children, and that some of those allegations date back to 1985.
Young appeared in court Wednesday, Dec. 18, and was charged with three counts of Lewd or Indecent Acts to Child Under 16, two counts of Cause/Procure/Permit Injury or Sex Abuse to Child and one count of Blackmail.

The graphic complaint against Young includes, ‘“allegations of forcible kissing, lewd comments, purchasing alcohol for a minor, propositioning sexual favors and “grinding his crotch” on a former staff member after she had been upset about missing her father,’ according to NonDoc.
An excerpt from the formal complaint against Young stated that a former student, “claims that Young called her (…) into his bedroom where “he was laying there butt ass naked” and that “weirded us out because he deliberately called us in there.”
Additionally, two former students claim that Young made inappropriate comments to them while they were present with his [redacted], stating, “You girls look hot. You should just get naked and go swimming.”

And just yesterday it was reported that Young’s 38-year-old daughter, Ashlee Tollett, has filed a civil lawsuit against her father claiming that she too suffered sexual abuse at the hands of the former school superintendent.
“It is never too late to find healing from past abuse,” said Tollett.
The lawsuit alleges the abuse started back when Tollett was three years old with Young touching her inappropriately when she was in the bath. It continued through middle school, according to Tollett, with her father allegedly ambushing her from behind with wet kisses, slapping her bottom, trying to pop off her bras and more.

Young will be back in court on February 13, 2020. He is currently on house arrest wearing an ankle monitor.
