10/31/2022 Update:  Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit have located 13-year-old Mailen Ernestina Santos. The young lady was found safe and has since been reunited with family. Original article from October 30 appears below in its entirety

(October 30, 2022) The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a teenage girl that’s missing from the Oakland Park area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

According to detectives, Mailen Ernestina Santos was last seen at around 3:46 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, in the area of 6000 N.W. Ninth Avenue in Oakland Park.

Santos is described as being about 5 feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing khaki pants, a black T-shirt, a blue “Gap” hoodie and black sneakers.
