Search continues for Towson University football player missing since March 15

Beginning on March 16, Baltimore County Police and the Towson University Police Department began issuing alerts regarding a missing 22-year-old Towson University student football player. Yesterday, police reported that TU student Benedict “Chiz” Umunakwe was last seen in the Towson area on Monday, March 15 around 10 a.m. wearing his TU football jersey with the number “21” on back. The jersey is black with gold lettering.

Law enforcement went on to say that Umunakwe be driving a dark blue Hyundai Sonata with New York City tag JJZ5811 – and that he may be in emotional distress.

Anyone seeing the missing the student is urged to call 911 immediately.

CBS News in Baltimore shared a tweet from Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson who was also urging his followers to keep an eye on for the missing student.

Towson University released a statement saying that, “We continue to cooperate with the Baltimore County Police Department in an effort to help bring our student home safely. We encourage anyone with information to contact county police at 410-307-2020.
