Search is on for DeLand man wanted on two counts of domestic violence strangulation
On July 29, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office headquartered in DeLand, Florida, announced that officials were on the hunt for 58-year-old Joseph A. Toomey of Grand Avenue in DeLand. The Sheriff’s Office has a warrant out for Toomey for two counts of domestic violence strangulation.
Following his violent outbreak that occurred last week, “he crashed his car while following the victim at a high rate of speed, then fled the scene,” according to law enforcement.
The Sheriff’s Office added that Toomey has a prior conviction for manslaughter, and that Deputies are actively looking to take him into custody.
