
Security guard at Prince George’s County McDonald’s charged in fatal shooting
On the evening of March 2, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced that their Homicide Unit charged a security guard in connection to a fatal shooting that went down on Saturday night. The alleged murderer is 54-year-old Murwanashyaka Francois of Gaithersburg, Maryland. He is charged with the shooting murder of 45-year-old Ricardo Clemons Jr. – a man with no current address.
Background: On March 1, 2025, at approximately 8:25 pm, officers responded to the McDonald’s located in the 2300 block of University Boulevard in Hyattsville for an altercation. Once on the scene, police located an adult male inside the business at that address suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Francois, employed as a security guard for the McDonald’s, shot Clemons during the altercation. Francois has been charged with second degree murder and related charges. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
