Six shot, three dead in Annapolis, Maryland, mass shooting
Earlier this morning, the Annapolis Police Department announced that a shooting took place at a private residence Sunday night ”in an otherwise quiet neighborhood” in the 100 block of Paddington Place, with more than one injury being reported. Annapolis is the capital city of the State of Maryland and is more often associated with boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, and not mass shootings.
According to the police, six people were shot inside that residence. Three male victims were reported dead on the scene and three victims were taken to Shock Trauma Units. Those that survived the mass shooting are reported to be in stable condition.
Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson said six people were shot, and the ages of the three men who died range from the early 20s to around 50. The chief said a motive remains unclear, but that this was not a random act of violence.
“This can happen anywhere. Nothing gets resolved with the use of a gun,” Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley said. ~ WBAL-TV
