Son turns himself in to police after shooting death of his father
On November 19, Baltimore County Police reported that the department had charged William Leonard Howard Jr., 38, of the 14000 block of Cuba Road, Cockeysville, in the shooting death of his father, 63-year-old William Leonard Howard who lived on Millstone Road, in Pylesville, (Harford County) Maryland. The shooting took place just before 3:30 p.m. on November 18 in Cockeysville.
According to police, the younger Howard shot the elder Howard after an argument escalated into a physical altercation between the two. The younger Howard retreated to the basement floor of the home and was followed soon after by the elder Howard. The elder Howard was then shot multiple times by the younger Howard, who immediately fled the location in his pickup truck.
Police and medics were called by the other family members in the home; but the victim suffered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Howard turned himself in to police at the Cockeysville Precinct around 7:30 p.m. on the evening of November 18. He was charged with First Degree Murder and ordered held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
