Stepdad & pastor charged with raping teen and threatening her with death & voodoo
Two South Florida men have been arrested and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl. One of the men, Avo Roker, 32, is the girl’s step-father. The other man is the step-father’s 40-year-old pastor, Ricardo Strachan.
Roker was arrested on Saturday, according to the Miami Herald. Police in Broward County say that the two men have been raping the teen girl for more than a year. Strachan was arrested about a week ago.
Police say that Roker introduced his step-daughter to the preacher at church. The two men told the girl that they would “kill her and conduct voodoo rituals on her family if she told anybody,” according to the Herald.
Fox News reported that Strachan used to be the preacher at the Prophetic Worshippers International Church in West Park, Florida. Police allege that the former pastor raped the teen girl more than 36 times between January and December of 2016. Roker, the step-dad, is accused of raping the girl more than 65 times from December 2015 to December 2016.
The step-dad has been charged with three counts of sexual assault by a person with custodial authority on a victim between the ages of 12 and 18.
The former pastor has been charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor between the ages of 12 and 16 years old.
