Donald Trump’s landslide victory in the Iowa Caucus last night does not take away from the fact that the ex-president is still facing 91 counts across four felony criminal court cases – one of those cases involving the “hush money” payment he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels so she would not spread the word about the sexual affair the two had prior to his running for president in 2016.

Back in 2018, Daniels who has been quite vocal over the years about the romantic and sexual relationship she had with Trump from 2006 through 2007, sued Trump while he was president, because she wanted to tell her side of the story regarding that relationship.   Daniels had signed a disclosure agreement just days before the 2016 presidential election and accepted $130,000 in hush money so she would not discuss or disclose her relationship with Trump. Trump was married to his current wife, Melania, while he and Stormy Daniels were getting together romantically.

That hush money payment is now part and parcel of one of the four court cases Trump is facing, the one where he was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, making him the first former president in U.S. history to be charged with a crime. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges in a New York court on April 4, according to ABC News.

Trump surrendered to authorities in New York City after he was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury investigating an alleged “hush money” payment of $130,000 to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

And this past Sunday, Daniels announced during her recent podcast (“Beyond the Norm with Stormy Daniels”) that she’s “set to testify” in Trump’s New York criminal trial.  That trial, scheduled to be held on March 25, stems from allegations that Trump agreed to a scheme in 2016 to falsify documents while reimbursing his former lawyer, “fixer” Michael Cohen, for a “hush money” payment to Daniels.  Trump is on record as stating that the payment made to Stormy Daniels was “legitimate and not illegally disguised.”

“Obviously, things have been next-level crazy, since I am set to testify in, at this point in time, March — obviously, that can change any moment — in the hush money case,” Daniels said.  ~ CBS News

More on Stormy Daniles from Ace News Today:

Over the years, and for various reasons, Trump has had difficulty keeping his legal representation on board.  Yesterday, it was widely reported that he just lost his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, in the Stormy Daniels case, who was also the same lawyer representing him in one of his four other cases where he’s appealing the verdict to pay $5 million to E. Jean Carroll.

In May 2023, a jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation against E. Jean Carroll, and awarded her $5 million in damages. That case focused on comments Trump made about Carroll in 2022, when he denied the abuse and called Carroll’s claim a “con job” and “hoax, according to CBS News.

It was only yesterday when we learned that Tacopina, “a star player on Trump’s team” was quitting the ex-president’s legal team. Tacopina would not go on record as saying why he quit.
