Yesterday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) along with the Stuart Police Department responded to a call regarding a double shooting late yesterday afternoon at the 55+ community of Cedar Pointe Condominiums off East Ocean Boulevard in Stuart, Florida. The scene was still active when police arrived.
MCSO’s SWAT Team was able to take the shooting suspect into custody. The victims both died at the scene.
MCSO Detectives have charged one of the condo residents, 75-year old Hugh Hootman, with two counts of first degree murder in the shooting deaths of his neighbors, 81-year old Ginger Wallace and her husband, 81 year old Henry Wallace. Hootman lived in the condominium above the Wallace’s.
Hootman shot and killed the couple Saturday afternoon at the Cedar Pointe Condominium Complex on East Ocean Boulevard. An ongoing dispute appeared to be at the center of the killings. ~ MCSO
