As always, there were many key highlights in last night’s Super Bowl LVII telecast, beginning with Chris Stapleton’s rousing and breathtaking performance of the National Anthem, later followed by the blessed realization that during the Halftime show we learned that superstar Rihanna is pregnant again. And although the game may have ended with Eagles’ fans crying “foul” at a controversial holding call that may have cost them the game, there were still the high-profile and well received commercial ads during the game that left fans wanting more.
Those ads included the return of the Mars M+M’s Spokescandies, “The Flash” trailer, Ben Affleck working the drive-in window at a local Massachusetts Dunkin Donuts, and the confusing TUBI gag ad where viewers thought their TV channel had changed the during game.

There was another surprise ad where the NFL used the night to spotlight flag football star Diana Flores, as she created a seemingly “live” stunt during Halftime. Flores leads “Run With It,” with the league’s spot that features the epic game of Flag football and pays tribute to women driving that sport forward.
Flores is the Mexico Women’s National Flag Football team quarterback – and most recently served as the AFC offensive coordinator at The Pro Bowl Games. Last night, for the first time ever, the NFL’s Super Bowl spot focused on youth and women’s Flag football and featured and featured Flores front and center.
The ad featuring Flores aired right after the Halftime Show. The NFL pulled off an impressive stunt to trick the audience into thinking the spot was filmed live, as Fox Sports anchor Erin Andrews interviews Diana “live” on the sideline when during the interview, Andrews tries to take Flores’ flag. But Flores was too fast.
This sets off an epic chase that seemingly spills out of State Farm stadium and onto the streets, as Flores is heavily pursued by disguised players, including Sauce Gardner (New York Jets), Cam Heyward (Pittsburgh Steelers), Jalen Ramsey (Los Angeles Rams), Aidan Hutchinson (Detroit Lions) and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, influencers, like YouTube star Mrbeast, and fans. Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders) is even disguised as a parrot, sliding down the escalator in an attempt to grab Flores’ flags.
The quarterback manages to evade all of them with her impressive speed and athletic ability; and she is assisted by some powerful icons on her side, including tennis legend Billie Jean King, U.S. Women’s National Flag Football team quarterback Vanita Krouch and the first female tackle football player with an NIL deal, Bella Rasmussen.
The spot ends with the line: “To the women pushing football forward, we can’t wait to see where you take this game.”
“We’ve always prided ourselves in creating Super Bowl ads that deliver blockbuster entertainment to fans worldwide, but what’s notable this year is that ‘Run With It’ is rooted in the game of Flag football, one of our most important long-term strategies,” said Tim Ellis, NFL Chief Marketing Officer. “Flag football is universal, inclusive, fast and fun, and with this creative, we are thrilled to not just elevate Flag, but specifically highlight how women are changing the game, driving the future of football forward and inspiring generations to come.”

And in case you missed last night’s game, the Kansas City Chiefs won the 2023 Super Bowl game with a final score of 38 – 35 over the Philadelphia Eagles.
