Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Tamarac District, in coordination with BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response), have arrested a Peeping Tom caught on camera burglarizing a home while committing a lewd and lascivious act. Investigators believe the suspect may have victimized others.

At approximately 2:44 a.m., Friday, July 14, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a burglary in progress near the 5700 block of Mulberry Drive in Tamarac. According to investigators, the victim stated an unknown male armed with an unidentified object tapped on her bedroom sliding door and attempted to gain access. BSO district deputies responded to investigate.

Surveillance video of the incident shows the suspect walking onto the victim’s property. He is then seen entering the victim’s enclosed patio and that’s where investigators say he exposed himself while peering through the victim’s bedroom sliding glass door. The victim, an adult female who will remain unidentified, told detectives that the suspect attempted to open the sliding glass door before fleeing on foot.

Through investigation methods, detectives identified the suspect as 29-year-old Tamarac resident Brenden A. Louissaint. On Monday, July 17, Louissaint was taken into custody and transported to BSO Main Jail. He faces one count of voyeurism, one count of exposure of a sexual organ, one count of stalking, one count of burglarizing an occupied dwelling, and one count of loitering and prowling.

Investigators believe Louissaint may have committed similar acts in the past and there may be more victims out there.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have come in contact with Louissaint to contact BSO Tamarac District Detective Elizabeth Maldonado at 954-720-2225 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
