Pop super star and philanthropist Taylor Swift is already a winner regarding the 2019 Teen Choice Awards.  She’s been nominated for three of the coveted Teen Choice Awards; but the big news regarding this year’s show is that the ever-popular singer-songwriter has already won the first ever Teen Choice Icon Award.

“As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with more than 50 million albums sold, Taylor Swift is a pop culture icon whose accolades and achievements go beyond topping music charts and selling out stadiums worldwide,” a release from the organization stated. “Swift is also one of today’s biggest social influencers, using her voice and platform to inspire and create positive change.”  ~ Yahoo! Swift has been in the public eye and hearts of the public for over a decade since starting out as a Country Western sensation. She released her debut album and her first single “Tim McGraw,” in 2006.  That song, which she co-wrote with Liz Rose and released at the tender age of 16, “peaked at No. 6 on the country charts and at No. 40 on the pop charts,” according to The Boot.

The 2019 Teen Choice Awards will air live from California on Sunday, August 11 on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.

This year’s show will be a two-hour live event and will also highlight the Jonas Brothers being honored with another special award, the Decade Award, which celebrates the group’s evolution over the past 10 years.

The star-studded event will also show Robert Downey Jr., Jessica Alba, “Marvel’s Runaways” actor Gregg Sulkin, “The Flash” star Grant Gustin, “Fuller House” actress Candace Cameron Bure, and John Stamos – and more celebrities – receiving awards.

As of this writing, one of Taylor Swift’s releases from this year, “You Need To Calm Down,” has been viewed more than 93 million times on YouTube.  See below.
