On Monday, February 24 at 9:04 a.m., Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department arrested 21-year-old Seth “Andrea” Gregori on a terroristic threats warrant.  The initial tip regarding Gregori’s threats to local law enforcement came from the FBI, after they were notified of Gregori making terroristic threats against Corpus Christi Police Department Officers. The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the threats and secured an arrest warrant for Gregori.

ABC News reports that Gregori’s goal was to launch an attack on the Corpus Christi Police “similar to the 2016 Dallas ambush,” according to FBI Houston.

In the 2016 incident referenced by the FBI, five Dallas police officers were killed and seven injured in an ambush-style shooting.

The shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, told a hostage negotiator that he wanted to kill white people, especially police officers, and expressed anger for Black Lives Matter, police said. The ex-U.S. Army reservist was killed by police when they detonated a bomb delivered by a robot.

Authorities credited the cooperation between federal and local agencies for preventing the planned attack, according to CBS News.  The Corpus Christi Police Department went on record as saying that they greatly appreciate the assistance of their local, state, and federal partners in helping to keep their community safe. “Their support is vital to helping us accomplish our mission to reduce crime, the fear of crime, and enhance public safety, they said.
