Texas pet store employee clings to hood of speeding car to stop thieves from stealing puppy
Bully Kamp in Houston, Texas, sells pet food, pet supplies and pets. One of the puppies the store had in their inventory was an exotic bulldog that was selling for $10,000. In a daring and despicable robbery, a couple saying they wanted to purchase the bully ran off with the pup, not counting on the Bully Kamp employee who chased them into the store’s parking lot and inadvertently ended up on the front hood of the escape vehicle as the couple fled the scene.
The robbery and ensuing rescue attempt went down on November 4. The heroic store employee, Alize James, told KPRC 2 News in Houston that when a couple came to the store wanting to buy the $10,000 pup, James went to another part of the store to grab some paperwork when she saw the couple leaving the store with the puppy.
Concerned solely for the puppy’s health, James chased the couple out to the parking lot. James said that the seven-month-old bulldog had just undergone a surgical procedure and needed special post-operative meds. “My mind is focused on her health, I obviously didn’t care about my wellbeing,” James said.
When the 21-year-old James reached the vehicle, the fleeing car hit her, and she ended up on the front hood. She held onto the car as it swerved from side-to-side while the driver tried to make her release her grip. Finally, after about ten minutes, the car finally came to a stop.
A male passenger got out, punched James and threw her off the vehicle.

James said that the man who helped steal the pup grabbed her by her feet and chest and hit her multiple times. She said she fought back, but the couple sped off with the bulldog pup.
Yesterday, Yahoo! News reported that the woman involved in the robbery, 21-year-old Royshana King, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Authorities still haven’t identified her male cohort.
The daredevil James told KPRC that she has no regrets, but if she had it to do all over – she would not chase after the dog nappers again.
