Texas teacher charged with violent assault on her 15-year-old female student (Video)
On November 8 at approximately 3:44 p.m., Hays County Sheriff’s Office school resource officers received information of an assault that had just occurred in one of the classrooms at Lehman High School, located in Kyle, Texas. The incident involved a guest teacher and a 15-year-old female student. The deputies arrived, and after interviewing several students and reviewing several videos, the teacher was placed into custody and charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony.
That teacher was 32-year-old Tiffani Shadell Lankford. Videos of Lankford hammering away at the student have since gone viral. The assault on that teen student went down in a foreign language class at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas.
That footage shows the substitute teacher repeatedly punching the sophomore girl in the face before throwing her to the ground and stomping on her head. Students alerted school officials and the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) said. ~ Fox News
The school district reports that Lankford was immediately fired. The student victim was released to her father who took her to a local hospital for evaluation. Meanwhile, Lankford was transported to the Hays County Jail.
Officials reported that Lankford began working for the County School District beginning in August 2019. She fulfilled her orientation requirements and passed a background check.
The day following Lankford’s assault, Lehman High School Principal Karen Zuniga sent an e-mail to parents wherein she wrote:
“Dear Lobos,
As a family, we share both the good news and bad news together. Today, I have to tell you about an incident that is disconcerting.
This afternoon, we fired one of our guest teachers for hitting and fighting with a student. Under no circumstance is that behavior tolerated at Lehman High School or in Hays CISD. Additionally, the former employee was arrested by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and faces potential criminal charges. Her actions will also be reported to the Texas Education Agency.
We take the safety and security of our students seriously. We took swift action when this incident occurred and will do everything necessary to protect our students.”
Later that same evening, Zuniga sent out a follow-up e-mail informing parents that Lankford had been arrested.

NBC News reported that on the evening of November 9, Lankford had been charged with aggravated assault and was released from jail the next day, Saturday, November 10, on a $10,000 bond.
