Previous scientific studies have revealed that songs with 119 beats per minute (BPM) are the best for sex, and new research has revealed which of those songs in that specific tempo are the best to listen to during sex.  And there might be a few surprises for you in the list.

Experts at sexual wellness site Bedbible.com used Spotify’s Playlist Miner Tool to gather a list of songs that appeared the most across various playlists that include keywords such as ‘sex’, ‘sexy’, and ‘intimacy’. The results were then narrowed down to discover songs with a BPM of 119; those that featured in the most sex-related playlists and fit the BPM criteria determined the ranking.

I hope you’re not getting tired of hearing her name, because in first place is Taylor Swift’s Love Story, appearing in 31 playlists in total. Of all the playlists analyzed, the hit 2008 song appeared the most in those that feature ‘romance’ in the title.

In second place is Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, which appears in 27 playlists overall. The throwback tune from 2009 appears the most in playlists with ‘sexy’ in the title – so it’s perfect for giving you all the confidence you need in the bedroom.

Another song by Lady Gaga lands in the ranking, Just Dance, in joint third place with Lana Del Rey’s Sad Girl. Both songs appear in 26 playlists, with Just Dance appearing the most in playlists mentioning ‘sexy’, while Sad Girl is more frequent in ‘intimacy’ playlists.

Pop legend Lady Gaga finds yet another one of her songs in the list, with Poker Face ranking fourth. Poker Face, which originates from the same album as Just Dance in third place, appears in 25 playlists.

Akon’s Smack That shares fifth place with Sade’s Smooth Operator, with both songs featuring in 23 playlists in total. Akon’s 2007 hit song appears the most in playlists with ‘sexy’ in the title, while Smooth Operator, which was released way back in 1984, features in ‘intimacy’ playlists the most.

Double Fantasy, by The Weeknd and featuring Future, appears in 22 playlists, placing it sixth in the ranking. The Weeknd is widely recognized for his sexual music, so it’s no surprise that Double Fantasy features the most in playlists with ‘sex’ in the title.

In seventh place is Kali Uchis’ Dead To Me, with 19 appearances in playlists; the R&B song features the most in playlists with ‘sexy’ in the title.

I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston takes the eighth position, appearing in 18 playlists. Despite being released nearly four decades ago, the tune remains a popular choice to play in the bedroom.

Crisaunt’s Dream Girl and Dean Martin’s Everybody Loves Somebody share ninth place, each appearing in 11 playlists. Both songs feature the most in playlists with ‘intimacy’ in the title.

Frozen, the eighth song from Sabrina Claudio’s debut mixtape About Time, is last on the list; the 2017 song appears in 15 songs in total.

A spokesperson from Bedbible.com has commented on the findings: “Music can be a great way to enhance sexual satisfaction by eliminating stress, elevating your senses, and stimulating various emotions during the experience.”

“However, given that research has revealed a BPM of 119 to be the most popular tempo for sex, selecting songs that fit this speed is bound to improve intimacy even further. Plus, if you listen to these songs before sexual activity occurs, it will undoubtedly help with the foreplay.”
