It seems like forever since Marvel’s 2019 original Captain Marvel film hit the big screen starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel – but the sequel is in the can and will be arriving in theaters this Fall on November 10.  The official trailer for the sequel, titled ‘The Marvels’ has been released.

Joining Captain Marvel in the upcoming extravaganza will be New Jersey’s newest teen superhero (although she’s now 20) Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel and Carol Danvers’ estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris.)  Monica who is kind of like Danvers’ honorary daughter has been working with Nick Fury who is also featured and once again played by Samuel L. Jackson.  Ms. Marvel is portrayed by actress Iman Vellani.

Synopsis:   

The sequel Superhero film The Marvels also serves as a continuation of the 2022 Disney+ television series, Ms. Marvel, where we first met the then school-aged Kamala Khan character.  In this film, Carol Danvers has reclaimed her identity from the militaristic, war-faring tyrannical Kree and has taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan a.ka. Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

Danvers, Rambeau, and Kamala begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers and must team-up. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”

Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels” stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson.
