‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ debuts on TV today
(Updated 6/25/2023, Trailer video replaced) – Many fans were saddened when the long-running “The Walking Dead” zombie apocalypse series aired their final episode and ceased production last year. But thankfully, the continuing story, “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” debuts today!
The series, which premieres on AMC on June 18, is less of a spin-off of the flagship, and more of a sequel featuring only Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they navigate new challenges several years after the events of “The Walking Dead” series’ finale. ~ Variety
The new series, set in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, is available for viewing beginning Sunday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+.
“The Walking Dead: Dead City” follows the popular Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.
The series also stars Gaius Charles and Željko Ivanek, amongst others
Eli Jorné, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on “The Walking Dead” for multiple seasons, serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, which is overseen by Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe. Cohan and Morgan also serve as executive producers, along with Brian Bockrath.
