To save her family, Kellyanne Conway steps down from Trump’s White House as RNC approaches
The political feud between Trump’s longtime supporter, advisor and counselor Kellyanne Conway and her husband George Conway – a vehement critic of the president and member-in-good standing of the Lincoln Project, a group dedicated to defeating Trump in November – has long been highly public and fodder for a few humorous moments on Twitter. But things regarding that feud took a more serious turn recently when the couple’s daughter, 15-year-old Claudia, also a vehement Trump critic, said that she was seeking emancipation from her parents because of her mon’s political views.
“Just found out my mom is a speaker at the RNC…that’s it. i’m out. running away phase 1 starts tomorrow at 7 am,” she wrote on a video she posted to TikTok.
The teen also took to twitter to express her intentions . . .
In an effort to save her relationship with her daughter, and perhaps even her marriage, Kellyanne Conway submitted her White House walking papers, taking to social media to say she was stepping down from her post to concentrate on her family.
ABC News shared portions of Kellyanne’s resignation notice:
“Our four children are teens and tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months,” she said. “As millions of parents nationwide know, kids ‘doing school from home’ requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times. This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans.”
“For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama,” she added.
Not to be outdone, Claudia’s dad also said he’d be taking a vacation from both Twitter and the Lincoln Project.
“So I’m withdrawing from @ProjectLincoln to devote more time to family matters. And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus,” he posted to Twitter. “Needless to say, I continue to support the Lincoln Project and its mission. Passionately.”
Trump has managed to bring out the worst in both his supporters and those that view him as an existential threat to the United States of America. The Conways wouldn’t be the first family to run aground due to the president’s divisiveness. We hope the Conways can find their back and save their family.
According to her bio, Kellyanne is a pollster and political consultant as well as having served as Trump’s 2016 campaign manager. Until her recent resignation, she was serving as a counselor to the president.
